MSW Intern Program
Serving youth and their families in need while training future agents of change
How does this work?
We're inspiring future social workers to make a real difference
Through our university partnerships, our MSW (Master of Social Work) Intern Program provides a unique opportunity for up-and-coming social workers to hone in their skills while closing the service gaps in the community.
Our MSW interns are supervised and trained in a variety of therapeutic models including but not limited to:
-
Solution Focused Therapy
-
Restorative Circles Training
-
Motivational Interviewing
If you are specifically interested in hosting an MSW Intern (supervised by a SEWI staff member) at your organization, please email lpatterson@sewi.org for more info!
Less barriers, more impact
We partner with local community organizations and schools to provide essential support services including, individual counseling services, group facilitation, and social & emotional wellness interventions.
Not only are we building a network of support through our trained MSW interns, we're making it easier for youth and their families to access services by bringing mental health and wellness services directly to their communities.

Partner Testimonials
"Very professional organization, they do great work in our schools, and have a flexible model which works well to serve our students."
Shuli L., Mental Health Counseling Coordinator for SMMUSD
"I would say that we had an amazing experience with SEWI over the years, and particularly this year's intern had enriched the mental health/emotional support staff at our site. As a first year intern, she offered our students individual and group services that exceeded our expectations."
Nancy G., School Social Worker at JAMS
